BGPCK is a program used in conjunction with BGRDR, a remote mail reader
designed for use with the GT Power BBS family. I am sure your sysop has
BGRDR12.ZIP or a later version online for download somewhere. If you
cannot find it, I am sure if you leave him/her a message, they will get
back to you as soon as possible.
[C]onfig, [L]ist, [H]elp, [D]ownload, [U]pload, [Q]uit:
Those are the options available off the main menu. [C]onfig will allow
you to change certain defaults. Anything you change is stored in a
file, so you need only change it once. Options available off the config
menu include:
[A] Mailbag upload and download protocol
[B] Send you mail that you wrote yourself
[C] Maximum messages per any one area
[D] Last uploaded mail bag identifaction
The default protocol allows you to change what file transfer protocol
you want this door to use when you select [D]ownload or [U]pload off the
main menu. Available protocols include Xmodem, Ymodem, Ymodem Batch,
and Zmodem. I would recommend using Ymodem.
Bag your own mail, if set to false, will not send any messages that you
entered back to the reader. I would suggest leaving this true until you
have got the hang of the reader. When set to true, any messages that
you enter on the board regularly or remotely with the reader will not be
bagged to you.
Max messages per area sets the maximum about of messages per area that
you may download. The amount you enter can be overridden by the sysop
of this board.
Last upload bag ID is for advanced users only. You should not change
that option as doing so may cause duplicate messages. When you upload a
mail packet, the door keeps a record of the last bags that you upload so
that duplicates can't be uploaded. If you, however, change the last bag
ID through the [C]onfig option, please be sure you know what you are
doing. Mainly a command for testers.
The [L]ist command will list all users of this door along with the last
date and time they used it.
The [H]elp option displays this file.
The [D]ownload command will start bagging any new mail it can find for
areas into which you are joined. Using GT's UN]join command, or the
reader's UN]join command will "unjoin" you from an area. Once all
messages and done bagging, the door will ask you if you are positive to
download this new packet.
The [U]pload command allows you to upload any new messages or replies
you entered using the reader.
Finally the [Q]uit command will exit from the door and return you to GT.
